About SewFurzedown
I set up SewFurzedown in April 2017 as I discovered a passion for sewing after joining a soft furnishing course about 6 years prior. After making curtains and blinds for family and friends, I decided to start my own business and make soft furnishings professionally. I am based in an area of south London called Furzedown, SW16 and I cover places such as Tooting, Streatham, Balham, Earlsfield, Wimbledon and surrounding areas.
I make bespoke soft furnishings including curtains, blinds and cushions. I also make a variety of home accessories such as doorstops, table runners, bean bags and draught excluders. Alongside these, I produce items such as bags, make up bags, purses and lavender bags which make great gifts. Having originally trained as a textile designer, I love working with different fabrics and my products are made with care and attention to detail.
Through my other job as a primary school art teacher, I combine my love for both sewing and teaching by running workshops for children and adults teaching them new skills and creating beautiful handcrafted things.
