2018 proved to be a busy year for SewFurzedown with a variety of commissions for soft furnishings completed and a record number of people participating in the workshops. The after school club proved particularly popular and the children made some amazing things. I ran some adult workshops for beginners which taught the basics of using a sewing machine and we made some pretty lavender bags. For those more familiar with their machine, we did a workshop inserting a zip into a small purse.
I was also delighted to be asked back to the Sprout Xmas market in December which allows me to sell some of my home accessories and gifts. I love being part of this as you meet lots of other craftspeople and it is lovely to get feedback on your own work. It also resulted in a couple of extra commissions for make up bags as well!
In 2019 I hope to continue with more workshops and projects. The after school club will resume in January and I will be planning more adult workshops which will focus on an envelope cushion and a tote bag. I will also be working on updating and improving my website with more products on sale in the shop.
I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me in this venture so far and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
